1. Information We Access
- Camera: Used only when the user takes a photo of a receipt for expense splitting.
- Gallery / Photos: Used only when the user selects an existing image of a receipt from their device for processing.
- Device Identifiers: We use OneSignal and Firebase identifiers to deliver push notification reminders for bills and settlements.
2. How We Use This Information
- Receipt Scanning: Images are processed locally on your device to extract expense details. No photos or camera data are stored or transmitted to our servers.
- Data Storage: All expense history, group data, and bill details are stored locally on your device.
- Notification Sync: To provide automated reminders, the app syncs non-sensitive settlement totals and due dates to a secure Firebase database associated with your anonymous OneSignal ID.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
To provide specific features, we use the following trusted partners:
- Google AdMob: To display ads to free-tier users.
- OneSignal: To deliver bill and settlement reminders.
- Google Play Billing: To securely process "BillBuddies Plus" subscriptions.
- Firebase: To synchronize notification triggers across your devices. These partners may collect anonymous identifiers as per their own privacy policies.
4. Data Sharing & Retention
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Data persists on your device as long as the app is installed. You can delete all local data by clearing the app cache or uninstalling the app.
5. Your Control
- Users can revoke Camera or Gallery permissions at any time in device settings.
- Users can opt-out of push notifications or ads by upgrading to the Plus tier.
